As a leader in educational locally, Golden Apple has always been eager to develop our education quality to those of international standards. In 2009, we decided to bring in the International Bacclaureate Organisation (IBO) Primary Years Programme to one of our schools.
After several years of effort to achieve accreditation by this prestigious educational quality assessment organization, in 2012, Golden Apple International Preschool and Kindergarten (IPAK), became the first school in Western China to achieve the coveted title of “IB World School”.
Following the success of IPAK, we then decided to implement this curriculum at another of our schools, Golden Apple Tianfu IPAK, which then became the second school in Western China to achieve world school status in 2015.
At these two schools the entire curriculum is based around IB philosophy on education with education philosophy, curriculum structure, planning, learning and teaching, and assessment all following IB philosophy.

School Philosophy
Each of the IB schools are independent entities with their own vision for the school they wish to be. However, this is bound together by a common interest in contributing to the greater good of humanity and developing students who are internationally minded lifelong learners.
In both our IB world schools, we strive for children to have a love of learning, a respect for life and the ability to adapt to an ever changing world.

Curriculum Structure
At our IB World schools, learning is organized around the exploration of what it is to be human, with 6 major themes repeatedly explored by students throughout their time at the school. These are:

• How the world works
• How we organize ourselves
• Sharing the planet
• How we express ourselves
Through the regular exploration of these themes, student build a deeper understanding of the world around them while at the same time developing their knowledge in traditional subject areas, a wide range of skills and developing dispositions for learning that will last them for life.
As a Chinese school, our curriculum ensures that students explore and build a deep understanding of local culture and traditions while also inquiring into significant and engaging topics from a global perspective. Thus our curriculum can be truly called ‘international’.

Learning and Teaching
Teaching and learning at our PYP schools reflect constructivist and socio-cultural philosophies on education. Rooted in the ideas of Piaget, Vygotsky and in the progressive early years curriculum implementation in Reggio-Emilia, Golden Apple’s learning and teaching truly centres upon the student experience.
Our leading pedagogical approach is one of inquiry, where children follow their own interests yet are guide along the way by experienced educators. However, our strong emphasis is upon play-based learning, with plentiful opportunities throughout the day for students to engage in a mixture of structured, guided and open-ended play engagements. Through these, we provide a rich environment for the development of both structured and creative thinking skills.

Specialised education
Immersion-style bilingual education

Sinology is a long spread culture treasure in China. Sinology education in Golden Apple is based on worldwide vision and Chinese soul, the core concept is to cultivate children and develop them into happy individuals who is rich connotation and elegant in appearance. “Traditional etiquette”, “Tang poetry” and “Tri-tone poems” etc. sinology contains rich knowledge and wisdom which we filter into children’s study and life thus let the seeds of culture blossom.
Multi-intelligence development through reading
We provide a diverse reading environment which motivates children’s interest in reading, cultivates their reading habit as well as forms self-reading ability.
